We are seeking an energetic Bellman/Valet to join and lead our guest services team!

Position Summary: Accommodates guests of hotel by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Work closely with the Front Desk Staff, Management, and other hotel departments in providing guest assistance and miscellaneous needs.
  • Bellmen are a welcoming presence in the lobby to assist with guest arrivals and departures. They may open doors of arriving guests, guests may require assistance carrying luggage into or out of the hotel or managing lobby doors. Every encounter with a guest should be helpful and cordial.
  • Delivers food and beverage room service to guest rooms.
  • Respond to guest questions either in person or over the phone in a courteous and professional manner; provides information including but not limited to directions, shopping, dining, entertainment, hotel services, and safety.
  • Fulfill guests’ need, ensuring their stay is as pleasurable as possible.
  • Assist front desk as directed; May include hotel guest check-in and check-out, answering internal and external phone calls, using Open Table software for John Ash and RVC reservations.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of hotel and area’s attractions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager. 

Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Operational knowledge of Windows, e-mail software (preferably Outlook) and general knowledge of how to navigate the Web (for guest services such as maps/directions, information to local attractions, etc)
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

  • Bilingual skills a plus.

  • Ability to complete administrative tasks correctly and on time

Physical Demands:  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, type; reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear and taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift to 50 pounds and will frequently lift to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Occasional periods of normal seated position at a computer terminal may be required
